College Examination results 2005 - 2006

In a letter to the Governers dated 4th September, Andrew Graham, the Headteacher, was able to report that the College had recorded its highest ever level of achievement at GCSE - resulting from the hard work and commitment of the pupils, staff, parents and the governors themselves. The College featured in the Times, Telegraph and Daily Mail as one of the top comprehensive schools nationally and the results can be summarised as follows:
  • There were 124 candidates
  • 69.5% achieved 5+ A*-C passes - The National scores were 62.4% for all pupils and 58.5% for boys
  • 65.6% achieved 5+ A*-C passes including English & Maths { a new DIES measure)
  • 100.0% achieved 1+ A*-G passes
Regarding Key Stage 3 (KS3 for 12-14 year olds) Standard Assesment Tests (SATS) at Level 5 (able/gifted), the results were as follows:
  • English 88.0%
  • Maths 95.0%
  • Science 86.0%
