Old Salvatorians Association |
| Welcome. This is the web page for the association. The college was founded in the mid-1920s and celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2001. Pre-2nd World War, the old boys designed the first "old boys" tie (then obtainable from Harold Wilkins, the college uniform suppliers). Post-war, several old boys got together and the association was formalised around 1947. This group included some hockey players who formed a thriving team. It was difficult to obtain football pitches at that time but subsequently this section was formed and is still going strong. On the social side, many will remember the annual dinners at the Rest Hotel, the Railway Arms and, latterly, the Headstone Hotel. Although the football section continued, the main association became dormant for a period. Interest was revived in 1996 when Don Burton met up again with Larry Richards. A while back, the continuance of the association passed into the hands of Mike Neville, Des Mulvany and Bob Lawrie (contact details below) who want to hear from you if you are not currently in touch with the association. It was with regret that we heard that Fr. Adrian (Paul) Tait died on the 14th November 2007. May he Rest in Peace. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on 27th November at St Joseph's, Wealdstone. |
